About

I am a software engineer formerly in the financial industry. I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Finance and Corporate Management from California State University East Bay. I worked as a Primary Credit Manager at Robert Half International where I querried databases using SQL. This reminded me of coding so I decided to self teach myself Ruby. That led me down a path to attend App Academy, a rigorous software development bootcamp where I learned not only how to develop full stack applications, but also to think as a programmer. The three main projects developed there are to your right.

During my free time I like to try new things and pick up new hobbies. I have gone mountain biking, overlanding/camping, off roading, fishing, crabbing, and many other hobbies. I have two really cute dogs, one is a rescue from Taiwan and one was free from a city above me.

Pesky Rex

In this game you as Pesky Rex, the neighborhood dog who likes to poop on lawns. Your arch nemesis Spot aka the HOA president has deployed drones to catch Rex!! Your goal is to poop on all 6 properties without getting caught from the drones. Pesky Rex was developed using pure vanilla javascript utilizing canvas api. All sprites including the character and background were hand drawn using piskel.

Help

This full stack application is a Yelp clone called Help. With Help, users can views businesses and add their review with pictures. Help developed using Ruby on Rails for the backend and React/Redux for the frontend. PostgreSQL was used for the database.

FoodJunkies

FoodJunkies is a social media application where users can post, interact, and purchase homemade food dishes! FoodJunkies was developed in a group setting using MongoDB as the document database, Express.js server-side framework running inside the Node.js server, and React/Redux for the frontend.

Rex worked for Propark for 3 years and during his time with us he started as a Valet and was promoted to Interim Account Manager. He opened new locations, rehabed locations and assisted us with coverage throughout the Bay Area. I could always count Rex "in" on any projects we were working on. Rex's most notable accomplishment with us was the opening on De Anza College's Drop & Go valet service. We had 30 days to implement a parking plan for circulating 800 cars/day, recruit-hire-train over 60 associates and launch a valet technology platform for over 4,000 users- Rex took the ball and ran with it. It was truly a pleasure to work with Rex, watch him grow and accomplish his goals. I wish you the best of luck on your endeavors!
